Lauren Turner

Executive Sommelier

Lauren graduated from the University of Texas @ Austin w a Bachelor of Architecture just after 9-11, when jobs were scarce. She moved to Denver after graduating and began to think about other opportunities. Lauren was hungry to learn and tired of watching the Food Network. She enrolled at the Cook Street School of Fine Cooking. Her two years there pushed her to explore Spinning sugar and building a tall croquembouche on a sugar platform.

After reaching out to other Texas graduates Lauren found her niche working w architects and chefs designing commercial large scale kitchens around the world.

After working as a Foodservice and laundry consultant she then turned her attention to the interior design of University Food Courts; working on the design of a Harvard University Food Hall.

Missing the design of Architecture, Lauren reached out to architecture firms and worked at Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture and later at Roth Shepherd Architects for a total of 10 years. Lauren also became a Registered Architect in Colorado 2013.

While working to design buildings, Lauren also took multiple wine classes at the International Wine Guild during the evenings. She is an Executive Sommelier and has passed the Advanced France Wine, Advanced Fortified Wine, and Advanced Wine Business examinations at the International Wine Guild.

Lauren is a Certified Wine and Fruit Wine Judge and has judged wines for the Drink Pink Vino and Denver International Wine competitions.

Lauren has also volunteered at the Colorado Governor’s Cup organizing and pouring competing wines as well as pouring at the event and plating paired foods in the VIP lounge.

Lauren recently completed the design and build of her home in Bow Mar, Colorado and is enjoying time w family cooking with her pizza oven and enjoying cellared wines. She hopes to help bring people together and share her experiences with people who enjoy “putting things together”.
